Obituary

Yvonne C. "Posey" Lyons, age 77, of Keshena, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Green Bay. Born in Keshena on November 21, 1939, she is the daughter of the late Gilbert and Alfreida (Kakwitch) Lyons.  Posey loved cooking and worked as a cook for most of her life.  She was a generous person who would do anything to help her family or friends and was never afraid to speak her mind.  She loved to dance and had a great sense of humor, always the life of the party.  Yvonne loved to try new things and in her free time enjoyed watching NASCAR races, watching the Packer games, playing cards, bingo and listening to Elvis and Johnny Cash.  More than anything Posey loved her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Yvonne is survived by: her children, Arlene (Gerald) Wayka, Sr. of Keshena, Violet (Pete) White of Keshena, Debra Pocan of Middle Village, Michael (Tonya) Pocan of Keshena and Alfred (Kala) Newton, Jr. of Keshena; her grandchildren, Arlyne "Baby R" Wayka, James Wayka, Arleen "Dolly" Wayka, Joyce (Ronco Corn) Wayka, Sasha (Tee-Jay) Wayka, Jake (Lindsey) Wayka, Hilary Wayka, Lacy Pocan, Pe-an (Stacey) White, Leslie White, Charmaine White, Kevin Lyons, Tamara Lyons, Fairyal Lyons, Samantha (Mike) Grignon, Justine (Waldon, Jr.) Pocan, Catherine Pocan, James Pocan, Raeshene Pocan, Meshan Pocan, Ta'Sheena Newton, Corey Dixon, La-Chance Boyce Newton, Ty-Esha Newton; great-grandchildren, Nashaye Fish, Roman Boyd, Terrance Wayka, Saychia Wayka, Lexsi Wayka, Josie Wayka, Anyiah Wayka, Selena O'Kimosh, Xavier Wayka, Wyatt Wheelock, Skyler Roy Gauthier, Anik Menominee/Gauthier, Isabella Rose Corn, Saehwon Corn, Shavonne Corn, Akohstaen Corn, Saneq Corn, Mimikawah Corn, Cami Kaquatosh, William Kaquatosh, Paul Kaquatosh, Kinsey Fletcher, Savannah White, Jacius White, Neveah White, Angelika Cloud, Gene Cloud III, Lesandro Lyons, Demitria Lyons, Briah Lyons, Layla Yvonne Lyons, Joshua Lyons, Tristan Lyons, Elila Lyons, Kaylupe Pocan, Kiyrah Peters, Waldon Peters III, Tayson Peters, and Clayton Grignon; as well as a great-great granddaughter, January Raine Wayka.  She is further survived by her only sister Karen Lyons Webster of Neopit and three brothers, Eugene Tepiew of Manitowoc, John Tepiew of Keshena and Brian Douglas Tepiew of Keshena.
She was preceded in death by her significant other, James Joseph Pocan; her son, Wayne Boyce Lyons; twin daughters, Rosemary and Louise in infancy; her brother, Arnold Tepiew; and two sisters, Rosemary Lyons and Patsy Lyons.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Visitation will be at the Lyons residence, W5146 Basswood Road in Middle Village from 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016 until the procession leaves for the church on Saturday.
